Gang of Youths are back with a new full length album ‘Go Father In Lightness’ set to be release in August of this year with corresponding Australia wide tour. You can catch them at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on the 8th of September, which is currently on track for a sellout show.

Gang of Youths formed in 2012 releasing their Debut Album ‘The Positions’ in 2014 which was hugely accepted by the Australian scene featuring songs such as ‘Magnolia' and ‘Kansas’ who receive a whole lot of air time on Triple J, ‘Magnolia’ holding 21st place in Triple J’s hottest 100.

'The Positions’ was followed by their ‘Let Me Be Clear’ EP featuring songs that were written for but weren't included in their debut album. Again much like ‘The Positions’ songs featured in ‘Let Me Be Clear’ are based around the narrative of lead singers heartfelt personal journeys of relationships and the trauma of being romantically involved with a person with a terminal illness.

Needless to say the release of ‘Go Father In Lightness’ is greatly anticipated with the Brisbane leg of the tour already selling out and Sydney being not far off. In a surprising turn the band will be moving to the UK prior to their album’s release and Australian tour dates due to a band member not being loud to return to Australia on a long term visa. The band moving to the UK to ensure that they are not split up and continue making music.

If you already a die-hard fan or just looking for a breath of fresh air in the Australian music scene seeing these guys at the Hordern would be well worth your pennies.
